Dear Editor:
What was our new U.S. Representative, Randy Fine, thinking by installing Ed Danko as his district representative for Flagler, Volusia and St Johns counties?
Did anyone in Fine’s sphere think to do even the most basic due diligence? A simple Google search would have unearthed a history of concerning behavior during both his time as a failed and controversial commissioner candidate in Dare County, North Carolina, to his extremist and divisive tenure on our local City Council. Was Fine that short on candidates or was he simply enthralled with Danko’s executive level membership in the local Trump Club? Seems the latter is the case.
A district director is tasked, among other duties, with public relations, and that has historically been Danko’s shortcoming.
Danko knows he’s not popular in Flagler County. And it was not nice to him by defeating his recent run for County Commissioner. So, we might be concerned about how much of Randy Fine’s much needed legislative and outreach attention our county will receive.
Further, Danko, in his new role, is now a federal employee and we taxpayers pay his salary making it even more galling after expecting he had been forever expelled from our local political scene.
